The electronic health record (EHR) implementation will transition Val Verde Regional Medical Center from multiple EHR’s to the highly integrated, web-based MEDITECH Expanse platform. After a full evaluation of the MEDITECH READY-Certified firms, Val Verde Regional Medical Center selected The HCI Group based on their successful track record assisting Val Verde Regional Medical Center through its EHR selection, planning and contract negotiations, in addition to HCI’s experience with MEDITECH implementations, strength of MEDITECH consulting resources and breadth of IT services to support its needs. The HCI Group will provide MEDITECH READY-Certified Project Management, Clinical, Financial, and Ambulatory experts to both advise and carry out project workload throughout the implementation. “After a systematic evaluation of the MEDITECH READY-Certified consulting firms, we chose The HCI Group.  It was clear to our selection committee their level of talent and expertise was exactly the type of partner we desired to help us drive a successful Expanse implementation.” said Linda Walker, CEO, Val Verde Regional Medical Center. “We see The HCI Group as a true partner who is committed to meeting our project goals and contributing meaningful change across the organization.”

Key drivers for the project include consolidation of multiple core EHR IT vendors into one integrated platform to support Val Verde Regional Medical Center’s health delivery system; the project includes an end-to-end review and optimization of inpatient and outpatient clinical and revenue cycle workflows and operations; organization-wide adoption of business intelligence to drive decision making; implementation of quality surveillance and clinical alerts and deploying MEDITECH’s comprehensive suite of web based clinical, revenue cycle, financial and ambulatory applications. The MEDITECH Expanse project has commenced with a planned Go-LIVE in Q2 2020.
