The HCI Group (HCI), global leader in healthcare IT managed services and Digital Transformation, hires Ed Marx as Chief Digital Officer.

I’ve personally known Ed for close to 10 years and not only is he a dynamic thought-leader, he’s one of the most genuine and diligent people I know in our industry. Ed was Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Cleveland Clinic, an $11B health system with facilities in Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Toronto, Abu Dhabi and London. His responsibilities included digital solutions, as well as information technology. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Ed served as the CIO for The Advisory Board, Texas Health Resources and University Hospitals.

Ed is a Fellow of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He has won numerous awards, including HIMSS/CHIME 2013 CIO of the Year, and has been recognized by both CIO and Computer World as one of the “Top 100 Leaders.” Becker’s named Ed as the 2015 “Top Healthcare IT Executive” and among the 2016 “17 Most Influential People in Healthcare.”
Ed is the author of three books, including the 2019 healthcare bestseller Voices of Innovation. He has a new book on healthcare digital transformation coming out in 2020 and is contracted for a two-book series in 2021.
