The HCI Group (HCI), global leader in healthcare IT managed services and Digital Transformation, hires Ed Marx as Chief Digital Officer.

“Tech Mahindra has recently completed an investment of more than $160m in digital transformation through its string of digital and consumer experience acquisitions of Pininfarina, The BIO Agency, Mad*Pow, Born, and has tapped Ed to bring it all together.” said Ricky Caplin, CEO of The HCI Group. “We are delighted to welcome Ed on board to be our first Chief Digital Officer. I’ve personally known Ed for close to 10 years and not only is he a dynamic thought-leader, he’s one of the most genuine and diligent people I know in our industry. I feel so blessed to have him join us on this journey.”

Ed was Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Cleveland Clinic, an $11B health system with facilities in Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Toronto, Abu Dhabi and London. “I’m very excited to be HCI’s first Chief Digital Officer. HCI is a growing global company, and this new role will enable me to partner with more people and organizations to ensure digital transformation continues to impact lives around the world,” said Ed Marx. “With Tech Mahindra, our digital reach is across the healthcare continuum to include providers, pharma and payers. I am looking forward to providing leaders with the tools and knowledge to begin and cultivate their own digital healthcare transformation.”

Ed is a Fellow of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He has won numerous awards, including HIMSS/CHIME 2013 CIO of the Year, and has been recognized by both CIO and Computer World as one of the “Top 100 Leaders.” Becker’s named Ed as the 2015 “Top Healthcare IT Executive” and among the 2016 “17 Most Influential People in Healthcare.”
