Healthcare IT consultancy places first on Florida Fast 100
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – October 1, 2013 – The HCI Group, a leading provider of information technology strategy and enterprise consulting services to healthcare organizations, was honored as the fastest-growing private company in the state at the Florida Business Journals 2013 Florida Fast 100 Awards Dinner last week at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. To be considered for the Florida Fast 100, which ranks companies by percentage growth from 2010 – 2012, the HCI Group had to demonstrate three consecutive years of revenue growth and revenues of at least $1 million in 2010 or $5 million in 2012.
The HCI Group ranked number one on the list, with a revenue growth percentage rate of 9,630, a growth rate more than three times higher than the number-two ranking company on the list.
“This has been a banner year for the HCI Group, and we are honored to be recognized as the fastest-growing company in the state,” said Ricky Caplin, CEO and co-founder of the HCI Group. “From the beginning, we’ve focused on recruiting the right people, maintaining an open-door policy and entrepreneurial culture and bringing unmatched IT expertise to our healthcare partners, all of which contributed to this tremendous growth.”
Caplin co-founded the HCI Group along with brother-in-law Greg Jones, who serves as the company’s president, with the goal of bringing value and quality to the field of healthcare IT. They built the HCI Group’s reputation on the successful implementation of electronic health records for numerous leading healthcare institutions. Today, the HCI Group offers a broad scope of IT solutions, helping hospitals plan, implement and sustain information technologies over the long term. Its services include enterprise IT system implementation and training, specialty service lines in optimization, clinical adoption, integration and testing, go-live and advisory services.
The HCI Group’s clients include Johns Hopkins, Tenet Healthcare and UMC Health System (Texas Tech) in the U.S., as well as health systems in the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
Earlier this year, Inc. magazine recognized the HCI Group as the fastest-growing private healthcare company and the third fastest-growing company overall in the nation on its annual Inc. 500 list. The Jacksonville Business Journal also recognized the HCI Group as the fastest-growing privately held company in Jacksonville as part of its JBJ50 list in July.
Caplin said he sees an opportunity to build on the HCI Group’s success in the U.S. by expanding overseas efforts.
“Our experience implementing new healthcare technologies in the U.S. can bring a level of expertise to the international marketplace that is currently in demand,” said Caplin. “Over the next six months, we will be increasing operations in the U.K, Middle East and Asia, using the information we’ve gleaned to help hospitals across the world enter the electronic age.”
