In 2009, Epic introduced the Model System.  It was designed to reduce the build time required to implement the system.  Epic eliminate the Design, Build and Validation (DBV’s) sessions that had been the core of their implementation strategy.  They were replaced with validation sessions.  In eliminating the DBV’s, a key step in the project cycle was eliminated.  The documentation of the current workflows is no longer a part of the Epic Project Life Cycle.
